About Us
Chainlink Labs is the primary contributing developer of Chainlink, the decentralized computing platform powering the verifiable web. Chainlink is the industry-standard platform for providing access to real-world data, offchain computation, and secure cross-chain interoperability across any blockchain. Chainlink Labs helps power verifiable applications for banking, DeFi, global trade, and gaming by collaborating with some of the world’s largest financial institutions, notably Swift, DTCC, and ANZ.
Chainlink Labs also works with top Web3 teams, including Aave, Compound, GMX, Maker, and Synthetix. Chainlink Labs was ranked as one of the Global Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces by Newsweek 2025.
About The Role
Chainlink decentralized oracle networks provide tamper-proof inputs, outputs, and computations to support advanced smart contracts on any blockchain. As the ecosystem continues to grow at an explosive pace we are building the infrastructure to further secure the reliability of our networks and incentivize good behaviour.
As an Engineering Manager for the Developer Experience team, you will lead a team of approximately ten talented engineers across two sub-teams:
Dev Ex CI/CD and Dev Ex Tooling. The Dev Ex CI/CD sub-team is responsible for creating a holistic and streamlined CI/CD experience for delivering both off-chain and on-chain code. This includes establishing golden paths, managing hosted and self-hosted runners, embedding security best practices, and handling artifact management.
The Dev Ex Tooling sub-team focuses on building comprehensive tooling and frameworks for end-to-end (E2E) testing, covering functional testing as well as non-functional testing types such as performance, load, and chaos testing. Additionally, this team is responsible for developing operational tools supporting multisig operations and streamlined node-change management.
Requirements and responsibilities for this role include leading, mentoring, and developing engineers, driving CI/CD improvements, overseeing testing frameworks, partnering with engineering leadership and security teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, championing reliability and security practices, maintaining team health, and recruiting top engineering talent.
Your Impact
- Lead, mentor, and develop up to ten software and SRE engineers, fostering a high-performance culture and enabling career growth.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, including self-service tooling, automation, secure-by-design principles, and compliance.
- Oversee the development of advanced testing frameworks to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements across multiple blockchain and off-chain products.
- Partner closely with engineering leadership, product management, and security teams to define and deliver robust developer tooling and operational frameworks.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to set clear expectations, align on scope, and ensure timely delivery of self-service tooling and services.
- Champion best practices in reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability across the Dev Ex team.
- Maintain team health and productivity through effective project management, clear communication, and supportive team practices.
- Recruit and hire top engineering talent, raising the bar for the team and broader organization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and improving CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling in complex engineering environments.
- Experience managing the engineering and delivery of internal engineering tools and platforms for globally distributed internal customers
- Proven experience in building and leading teams responsible for mission-critical tooling and infrastructure.
- A strong passion for making developers highly productive.
- Familiarity with Golang and its ecosystem.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies (functional, performance, chaos), and operational tooling.
- Experience partnering closely with…
