This role will be responsible for operationalizing Fin Ops—turning cloud billing and usage signals into automated, trusted, decision‑ready insights. The role partners across engineering, finance, cloud ops, and product teams to deliver cost transparency and accountability through scalable showback/chargeback, automated tagging governance (policy‑as‑code), anomaly/variance operations, and optimization cadence.
High level of engineering expertise with strong financial acumen, resource optimization strategies, and data visualization abilities. Responsibilities include analyzing cloud costs, identifying waste, recommending rightsizing and architectural optimizations; building automated workflows to detect and remove unused resources. The position leads end‑to‑end cost optimization projects, including requirements gathering, UAT, documentation, and delivery, while building automated ETL processes to unify billing and operational datasets.
The IT Senior Cloud Engineer ensures that enterprise cloud solutions are optimized for cost and functionality and is responsible for execution of the cloud/infrastructure strategy set by architects. The engineer develops internal and external compatibility of systems, writes highly complex scripts to automate tasks, maintains compliance with SLAs/OLAs, documents solutions, writes configuration for cloud platforms, collaborates with developers for the "Ops" part of Dev Ops, and leads implementation and integration across business and IT functions.
They proactively integrate cloud solutions with existing tools, ensure security, plan installation and maintenance, implement governance for RBAC and cost containment, estimate time and cost, and design physical cloud‑based solutions.
