The salary range for this position is $ to $. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

REMOTE WORKThe Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Manager to oversee and ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our IBM z/OS environment. The successful candidate will maintain and support a variety of mainframe systems—including IBM DASD storage, IBM VTS systems, DB2, and CICS—and ancillary systems such as TCP/IP, VTAM, TN3270, Page Center, RMT Printing, VPS, VPSDRS, NDM (z/OS and Windows), FTP, SFTP, ZEN, TCPIP/VTAM/EE, and additional core IBM infrastructure technologies.
This leadership role will also contribute to strategic planning, system automation, modernization initiatives, and serve as a technical mentor across teams.
- Lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the IBM z/OS mainframe environment.
- Manage IBM DASD storage and IBM VTS systems, ensuring robust data integrity and availability.
- Support and troubleshoot DB2 databases and CICS transaction systems.
- Maintain ancillary systems including TCPIP, VTAM, TN3270, Page Center, RMT Printing, VPS, VPSDRS, NDM (z/OS and Windows), FTP, SFTP, ZEN, TCPIP/VTAM/EE, and all related connectivity and interface solutions.
- Implement and enforce security measures across mainframe and ancillary systems.
- Oversee system upgrades, capacity planning, patch management, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional application, network, and security teams to support business initiatives and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ensure strong disaster recovery and backup protocols are in place and tested regularly.
- Mentor junior staff and engineers, promoting skill development and knowledge transfer.
- Document environment configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and IBM mainframe best practices.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional administrative and/or program management experience which shall have included responsibility for reviewing, prioritizing, and assessing information technology initiatives, projects, and staff; developing, implementing, and supporting complex systems, database, network, and applications environments; aligning technology strategies with business objectives; optimizing use of Information Technology resources including developing budgets and controlling costs;
