Overview
Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is looking for a Business Systems Lead to join our Information Technology (IT) team in Scottsdale, AZ. The IT team is a vital component in KES’ strategy to improve business performance through technology and to transform our business. We work with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Operations, Commercial and Financial technology product teams to support businesses that design, build and maintain facilities for various industries across the world.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and IT capabilities to define problems, identify requirements, execute solution implementations, and prove value through experimentation and scalable deployment. You will need to be resourceful, able to partner with key stakeholders, and able to prioritize, build relationships, and interact with market solution providers to identify viable products that can accelerate progress toward business objectives.
WhatYou Will Do In Your Role
- Proactively build relationships with DEPCOM stakeholders to understand and anticipate business IT needs in line with business goals and vision.
- Prioritize, manage and execute against a focused backlog to deliver high-value initiatives in a timely manner.
- Effectively gather and document detailed business requirements to determine scope and develop functional specifications.
- Conduct process mapping, gap analysis and impact assessments to identify opportunities for improvement or innovation.
- Work cross-functionally within DEPCOM and the KES IT Capability to seek alternative viewpoints on identified issues such as process gaps or technology pain points.
- Partner with stakeholders and team members to facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement and team retrospectives.
- Ensure IT systems and applications comply with internal policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Represent an IT Point of View when analyzing alternative solutions for business problems and associated risks to the enterprise architecture.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout project phases.
- Assist in change control processes and maintain documentation of system updates, upgrades, retirements and implementations.
- Monitor system and application adoption and conduct user feedback to inform iterative improvements to optimize the overall tech stack.
- Stay current on technologies and best practices to leverage the best knowledge for success.
- Travel up to 10% of the time, depending on project needs and opportunities.
- Understanding of software implementation and/or development regarding design, configuration, testing and implementation.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive consensus in complex environments.
- Experience documenting complex business processes and gathering functional requirements to identify practical improvements.
- Experience building trusted relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into detailed requirements and/or functional specifications.
- Ability to guide stakeholders through problem definition, requirements gathering, experimentation and implementation, including testing and user acceptance.
- Ability to drive improvement opportunities focused on root cause analysis, enabling self-serve, automation, and continuous optimization of long-term systems.
- Experience working with software vendors or software development to solve business needs.
- Experience working in a construction environment, home office or field.
- Experience working within global AGILE teams and innovation frameworks.
- Experience with data and analytics governance and tools.
- Experience with AI literacy and utilization.
