Technical Writer, Digital Media / Production
You'll be our AI Technical Writer, responsible for a mix of long-form articles, hands-on testing write-ups, tutorials, social content, and technical notebooks.
About Alpha SignalThe AI space moves fast. Every week there are new models, new papers, new tools and most people covering it are either too slow, too shallow, or too academic to be useful to developers who actually need to act on it.
That's the gap we fill. Alpha Signal is one of the most-read AI newsletters for developers and engineers, and our job is simple: read the papers, test the tools, write it up clearly, and help our audience stay ahead without the noise.
The RoleYou'll be our AI Technical Writer, responsible for a mix of long-form articles, hands-on testing write-ups, tutorials, social content, and technical notebooks.
The output is real and the cadence is consistent, but the work itself is genuinely interesting if you're the kind of person who follows AI closely anyway.
No fluff. No content marketing playbook. Just good technical writing for a technical audience.
What You'll Do- Long-Form Articles (3x per week) ~800‑word breakdowns of new models, research papers, and major announcements. You'll go to the primary sources (papers, docs, release notes) and write something a developer can actually use.
- Tutorials and How‑To Guides Step‑by‑step guides built around real developer workflows. Working code, clear prereqs, honest notes on where things go sideways.
- Hands‑On Testing Write‑Ups (weekly) Spend time with a new tool or model, then report back honestly. What worked, what didn’t, what developers should know before they try it themselves.
- Social Content (daily, across Linked In and X) Sharp, original posts that translate the week's coverage for both platforms. You'll add your own perspective and this isn't just repurposing.
- Technical Notebooks (weekly) Jupyter or Colab notebooks that help developers implement the latest models. Runnable, documented, practical.
- Editorial Ownership:
Own the content calendar, coordinate technical reviews with engineering and research, maintain a style guide, and track what's landing with readers.
- 1 social post per day across Linked In and X
- 1 hands‑on testing write‑up per week
- 1 technical notebook per week
- Strong technical background, comfortable reading ML papers, understanding model architectures, and writing code
- Experience writing technical content for a developer audience
- Able to produce clean, accurate, ready‑to‑publish work at a consistent pace
- Plugged into the AI space and genuinely curious about where it's going
- Organized and self‑directed, you can manage your own workflow without a lot of hand‑holding
- Bonus: hands‑on ML or data science experience, an existing presence in the AI community, or a portfolio we can dig into.
- Full‑time, fully remote
- Competitive salary + annual bonus opportunity
- Health, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield (we cover 80%)
- $500 home office stipend
Send a short note on why this is a good fit for you, plus 2‑3 writing samples that show your range. A research breakdown, a tutorial, a testing write‑up, whatever’s most relevant.
Alpha Signal is fully remote. We’re looking for the best person for this role, wherever they are but the US is preferred for timezone reasons.
Salary Range$60,000 - $80,000 per year + annual bonus based on company revenue targets
