Overview
The Product Manager II, GIS Data Products owns the end-to-end customer experience for First American’s GIS data products. This role translates customer needs into product requirements, shapes and packages GIS layers, and coordinates cross-functional execution across Product, Data, Platform, and Sales to deliver reliable, discoverable, and valuable map-ready data products. The role synthesizes insights, prioritizes outcomes, defines requirements, and ensures the delivered layers perform in real customer workflows from onboarding through ongoing use.
Responsibilities- Own the GIS data product experience end-to-end: value definition, requirements, delivery readiness, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Translate customer insights into product decisions, including layer portfolio strategy, attribute requirements, and usability improvements.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Data, and customers to identify opportunities, validate needs, and inform roadmap priorities.
- Develop and maintain product artifacts including layer specifications, field definitions, release notes, and customer-facing documentation.
- Design and package layers to satisfy distinct customer needs (e.g., appraisal, underwriting, investment screening, or government workflows) and maintain a versioned catalog.
- Establish usability standards for layers (metadata completeness, consistent schema, consumer-friendly naming) to support internal and external adoption.
- Provide customer-ready GIS layers (views, symbology, filters, field sets, aliases, and naming conventions) using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to publish, share, and govern layers and services for consumption via open-source GIS tools, open standards interfaces, and Esri Enterprise environment.
- Define and execute release readiness checklists, including functional validation and basic data quality verification.
- Develop enablement assets: demo layers, capability summaries, customer workflow narratives, and one-page product briefs for each layer; support customer trials and adoption efforts.
- 3+ years of product management experience delivering customer-facing products in a cross-functional environment.
- Hands-on proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, including creating layers, configuring attributes/symbology, and packaging map-ready deliverables for customer use.
- Ability to translate customer needs into clear product requirements and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Comfort working with data teams on schema/fields/joins at the requirements level (not expected to be the data engineer but must specify what is needed).
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive execution across Product, Data, Platform/Engineering, and Sales.
- Experience delivering data products, GIS products, or analytics products.
- Understanding of parcel/land data concepts and common GIS customer workflows.
- Familiarity with the Esri ecosystem (Feature Services, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, ArcGIS Marketplace distribution).
- Experience applying JTBD or outcome-driven methodologies in product discovery and prioritization.

Pay Range: $ - $ Annually
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
