- Lead efforts to identify, assess, and evaluate vulnerabilities and threats to information systems and sensitive data
- Develop and implement data protection strategies, including access controls, encryption, and retention policies
- Conduct regular data risk assessments and monitor the effectiveness of security measures
- Mentor and supervise other data protection engineers, providing guidance on methodologies and best practices
- Represent the organization in external meetings with clients and stakeholders
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on data protection and privacy
- Proven experience with data protection technologies, including encryption and data loss prevention tools
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET
- Experience in managing and supervising other Data Protection Engineers
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity laws, regulations, and best practices
- Experience with designing and implementing data security solutions for enterprise environments
- Knowledge of data security frameworks, standards, and protocols
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations (i.e., NYDFS, PCI, etc.)
- Experience with architecture and design in cybersecurity contexts
- 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
