Position Overview

Provides technical computer hardware and software application support to partnership health center (PHC) computer end‑users for the Health Information Technology (HIT) Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical operating system support on the local area network.
  • Respond to telephone, e‑mail, ticket, and other requests for software and technical support following established help desk policies.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, provide work‑around solutions, and follow escalation procedures.
  • Research issues, identify solutions, and resolve end‑user problems while maintaining appropriate documentation in the trouble‑ticket database.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Configure, install, and update desktops, laptops, peripherals, networks, and related software.
  • Communicate with end users to manage expectations regarding timeliness and scope of the HIT Department’s responses.
  • Assist with cross‑training and direction of information systems staff on software applications for PCs.
  • Maintain relationships with personnel in all PHC departments to coordinate training and resolve operational issues.
  • Execute any related duties as required or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Significant knowledge of personal computer hardware, communication, interconnectivity, imaging concepts, and equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of LANs, network operating systems, system management, and application installation.
  • Familiarity with online technical resources, Information Security Best Practices, ITIL framework (Service, Problem, and Change Management), HIPAA compliance, and PHC Corporate Compliance Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in e‑mail, database, spreadsheet, and word‑processing software in Windows.
  • Excellent customer‑service skills and effective communication in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships, research technical problems, and manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to plan, prioritize, and complete work in line with the HIT Department’s overall goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in computer technology or certification from a recognized computer maintenance training program.
  • At least one year of experience providing technical support in a network and application environment.
Special Requirements
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity to certain infectious diseases and a TB test required. New employees will be asked to volunteer vaccination status for required vaccines upon hire and will receive assistance to obtain necessary immunizations.
  • Employees unwilling or unable to provide vaccination status will receive a reasonable accommodation where it does not impose undue hardship.
  • Passing a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, required.
Physical/Environmental Demands

Work is performed in an office setting with light physical activity, occasional stooping, bending, climbing ladders, and moderate lifting (21‑50 pounds). May require carrying a cell phone. Exposure to communicable diseases possible. Position not eligible for full‑time remote work and may include nights, weekends, and periodic on‑call shifts.
