Job Title: IT Support Specialist
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite at Headquarters with Global Remote Support)

The Office of Technical Assistance (OTA), under the U.S. Department of the Treasury, provides technical and advisory assistance to more than 50 countries worldwide. OTA supports five major functional areas:
- Economic Crimes
- Government Debt and Infrastructure Finance
- Budget and Financial Accountability
- Banking and Financial Services
- Revenue Administration
The IT Support Specialist provides end-to-end technical support across a globally distributed workforce. This role supports headquarters staff in Washington, DC and international personnel deployed worldwide. The specialist will deliver hands-on and remote IT support covering hardware, software, network services, cybersecurity compliance, identity management, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
This is a high-responsibility, mission-critical role requiring deep Microsoft 365 administration experience, strong troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to operate in a secure government IT environment. Key Responsibilities
Global IT Support & Operations
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 IT support to domestic and internationally deployed staff
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, OS, network, and connectivity issues
- Deliver full lifecycle IT support for laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Provide real-time remote technical assistance using enterprise remote access tools
- Support hybrid and remote work environments across multiple time zones
- Administer Microsoft 365 hybrid environments
- Manage Entra (Azure AD), Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Administer Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, Microsoft Groups
- Support Outlook, Teams conferencing, and collaboration workflows
- Manage email account creation, modification, archiving, and deactivation
- Maintain compliance with federal cybersecurity directives and FISMA requirements
- Support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives including cyber hygiene scans
- Assist with data loss prevention controls
- Follow strict government security standards and auditing requirements
- Safeguard controlled and sensitive information
- Maintain complete IT asset inventory across global staff
- Provision, deploy, repair, replace, and track laptops and mobile devices
- Manage IT equipment logistics, shipping, recovery, and lifecycle replacement
- Support and maintain Audio/Video and conference room IT systems
- Install, configure, update, and support:
- Adobe Applications
- Power BI
- Power Automate
- Visio
- Planner
- Project
- Troubleshoot application licensing, access, and performance issues
- Minimum 7+ years of professional IT support experience
- Deep expertise with:
- Microsoft 365 Hybrid Environments
- Entra / Azure AD
- MFA and SSO
- Advanced Windows OS troubleshooting and device support
- Experience installing, supporting, and managing laptop and mobile devices
- Hands-on experience with:
- Exchange Online
- Teams
- Share Point
- One Drive
- Experience with enterprise remote support tools:
- Remote Desktop
- Zoom
- Microsoft Teams
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance
- Experience supporting globally deployed staff and international operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently under deadlines
- High adaptability in fast-changing environments
- Strong collaborative mindset and cultural sensitivity
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- CompTIA
- Microsoft
- ITIL
- Full-time onsite role at Washington, DC headquarters
- Daily interaction with international users across multiple time zones
- High availability during business hours with flexibility for urgent global issues
- Handling of sensitive government systems and data
- Strict adherence to federal IT security and acceptable use policies
- No subcontracting — individual contractor engagement only
- Background investigation and suitability determination required before start
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust Clearance
- Must successfully pass background investigation
- Must maintain active SAM registration and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)
- Must comply with all federal cybersecurity, data protection, and IT governance rules
