Job Summary:
Management Solutions is seeking a Junior IT Policy Analyst to support delivery of mission‑critical services within a federal IT environment.
This role supports the development, review, and maintenance of IT and cybersecurity policies, processes, and documentation. The Junior IT Policy Analyst will work closely with the Senior Cybersecurity / Cyber and IT Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to execute policy‑related activities, including policy reviews, updates, coordination, and documentation management.
The position requires strong attention to detail, foundational knowledge of IT or cybersecurity environments, and the ability to translate technical and policy‑related information into clear, structured documentation.
Policy Review & Analysis- Support the review of federal IT and cybersecurity policies to ensure alignment with client requirements.
- Assist in conducting assessments to identify IT and cybersecurity policy gaps and support development of recommendations for remediation.
- Analyze policy documents and supporting materials to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance.
- Assist in drafting, updating, and refining IT and cybersecurity policies, guidance documents, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support the development of clear, concise, and user‑friendly policy documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ensure consistency in format, terminology, and structure across policy materials.
- Support coordination of inter‑office and interagency policy reviews, including tracking feedback and updates.
- Assist in tracking policy status through the review and approval lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation of policy changes, updates, and approvals.
- Support development and maintenance of a repository of IT and cybersecurity policy risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in identifying and documenting policy‑related risks and gaps.
- Maintain a centralized, version‑controlled library of current and historical IT and cybersecurity policy documents.
- Assist in development of policy implementation plans and roadmaps aligned with client strategic goals.
- Support alignment of policy documentation with broader cybersecurity strategies and initiatives.
- Assist in creating and delivering IT and cybersecurity policy awareness materials, training sessions, and workshops.
- Support development of communication materials to promote policy understanding and adoption across the organization.
- Work closely with the Senior Cybersecurity and IT Policy SME to execute assigned policy development and review activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather information and validate policy content.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine documentation and ensure alignment.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a relevant field.
- 3 years of relevant professional experience in policy analysis, technical writing, cybersecurity, IT support, or related roles.
- Basic understanding of IT and/or cybersecurity concepts, environments, or frameworks.
- Strong writing, editing, and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze information and support development of structured, clear documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an A‑Q clearance.
- Experience supporting federal agencies.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity and IT governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
- Experience supporting cybersecurity or IT operations programs.
- Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Possessing an active Q, L, or Top Secret clearance is strongly preferred.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract and/or security clearance requirements.
Working ConditionsThis position is primarily performed in an office environment or home office setting. Employees will be required to use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate a computer and standard office equipment.
