Deepgram is seeking a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to join our Applied Engineering team. You will primarily drive technical pre-sales engagements with prospects, customers, and partners, serving as the technical authority bridging state-of-the-art AI speech technology with customer business needs. Youll collaborate with the sales team to craft compelling technical solutions, provide technical validation, build proof-of-concepts, and demonstrate the value of our platform to technical decision makers.
Your deep engineering expertise combined with consultative sales skills will help navigate complex sales cycles and establish Deepgram as the preferred Voice AI partner. As a member of Applied Engineering, you’ll influence the team’s vision and product strategy based on market insights and contribute to evolving our pre-sales methodology.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. While anchored in our SF office, Deepgram is remote-first and we don’t expect you to be in the office every day. A mix of in-person and remote work is encouraged. The role includes up to 50% travel to meet with customers and support sales engagements.
What You’ll Do- Lead technical discovery and solution design for enterprise prospects and customers
- Architect and implement custom proof-of-concepts and technical demonstrations for specific use cases
- Provide expert guidance on API integration, performance optimization, and deployment strategies
- Partner with Account Executives to navigate technical objections and accelerate the sales cycle
- Contribute to technical content including implementation guides, reference architectures, and best practices
- Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge across the organization
- Represent the voice of the customer to product and engineering teams
- First 30 Days:
Complete onboarding, shadow senior team members on customer calls, and begin building technical demos. Gain proficiency with our core APIs and documentation. - 60 Days:
Lead technical discovery calls with account executives and develop custom proofs-of-concepts for prospects. Contribute to technical content and participate in sales strategy sessions. - 90 Days:
Own the technical relationship with assigned accounts, develop and present complex solutions, mentor newer team members, and contribute to pre-sales methodology.

- Are energized by staying at the forefront of AI and speech technology
- 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or similar customer-facing technical roles
- Strong software engineering background with professional development experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Type Script)
- Proven track record navigating complex technical sales cycles
- Experience building and demonstrating proofs-of-concepts or technical solutions to diverse audiences
