The EHR Support Specialist provides frontline technical support and training to electronic health record (EHR) users across the organization. This role combines customer service, technical troubleshooting, and education to ensure staff can effectively and confidently use EHR systems.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with three days per week onsite at a regional office (Lubbock, Amarillo, or Abilene) and remote work for the remainder. Occasional travel to onsite locations, including correctional facilities, is required.
Key Responsibilities EHR Support & Customer Service- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHR users, delivering clear, user-friendly support
- Troubleshoot technical and workflow issues via phone, remote access, and in-person visits
- Respond to help desk tickets promptly while ensuring a positive user experience
- Escalate complex issues to IT or development teams as needed
- Design and deliver engaging EHR training sessions (live, virtual, and hybrid)
- Identify knowledge gaps and provide targeted training for clinicians and staff
- Develop easy-to-follow training materials, job aids, and user guides
- Support providers and staff to build confidence and proficiency in EHR use
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff, business partners, and IT teams
- Clearly communicate user needs and system challenges to stakeholders
- Gather feedback to continuously improve training, workflows, and system usability
- Assist with user licensing and access management while ensuring compliance
- Maintain accurate records of system access and authorized users
- Contribute to and maintain the Managed Care knowledge base
- Provide occasional in-person training and support, including at correctional facilities
- Ensure equitable access to training and assistance across all locations
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- One (1) year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience to equal five (5) years.
- 3 years of experience with EHR systems
- 1 year of technical training experiene
- 3 years of experience working in clinical operations, clinical workflows, and/or EHR support
- Knowledge of PEARL EHR
- 3 years of advanced customer service working with upper management executives and/or physicians
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
