Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Service Now Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of mission‑enabling applications for the U.S. Coast Guard. This is a remote position.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and configure applications within the Service Now platform, utilizing App Engine, Flow Designer, and UI Builder to meet mission objectives with minimal manual coding.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate operational needs into scalable, functional scoped applications and Service Now modules.
Execute the full SDLC utilizing diverse methodologies, including Scrum, Agile, Dev Sec Ops , Lean, and Waterfall, ensuring Service Now releases are delivered on schedule.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to platform integration, MID Server configuration, deployment, and functional defects.
Minimize technical debt by applying Service Now best practices and platform governance to ensure “out‑of‑the‑box” alignment.
Maintain cybersecurity compliance by developing Service Now applications that conform to USCG system security requirements and federal data protection standards.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, including Software Product Documentation, Update Set logs, and updates to the Software Lifecycle Management Plan.
Support application lifecycle activities, including the migration of legacy workflows into Service Now and the modernization of existing platform modules.
Provide technical insights regarding Service Now platform capabilities, governance models, and digital transformation strategies.
High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
Demonstrated experience developing on the Service Now platform.
Proven ability to execute the SDLC using modern frameworks such as Agile, Dev Ops, or Dev Sec Ops in a mission‑critical environment.
Experience securing Service Now applications in accordance with USCG, DoD, DHS, or federal cybersecurity policies.
Proficiency in systems integration, including connecting Service Now with external data sources, APIs, and enterprise infrastructure.
Strong communication skills with the ability to participate in technical discussions and translate requirements between stakeholders and engineering teams.
Ability to manage tasks in a fast‑paced environment, focusing on platform scalability and operational readiness.
Clearance Required:
Active Secret Clearance
Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.
Knowledge of Service Now Governance or the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
Service Now Certifications (e.g., Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist).
Familiarity with enterprise IT governance and hybrid cloud integration.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
