• Onboarding will require in office (5 N 5th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101). After onboarding for equipment, user accounts, VPN access and environment awareness.
• 40 hours per week hybrid (
  mostly remote work
  ). Occasional in office days as directed by supervisor (typically 2-4 times/month).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled professional to join our team in a multifaceted role that encompasses Database Administration, Database Development, and Data Architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, designing, and optimizing our Microsoft SQL and Postgre

SQL database systems. This role requires a deep understanding of database management, development, and architecture to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

• Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL database servers.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, recovery, and patch management.
• Monitor database performance and security, using tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), pg Admin, Solar Winds, and AWS Cloud Watch.
• Implement and manage database security policies to ensure data integrity and compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot database-related issues.

Database Development:

• Design and create database schemas, tables, views, and queries for both Microsoft SQL and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Optimize database objects and queries for performance and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks.

Data Architecture:

• Design the overall structure of the database to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
• Create data models that represent and support business processes.
• Develop and implement strategies for data management, including data warehousing and data integration.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in database design and implementation.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, development, and architecture.
• Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL.

Technical

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL database architecture, configuration, and administration.
• Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.
• Experience with database backup and recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

Soft Skills:
