Job Description & How to Apply Below

Enpal is developing cloud-native renewable energy infrastructure across solar systems, electricity storage, IoT applications, and integrated energy management platforms. This Dev Ops Engineer role in Berlin focuses on building scalable, resilient, and secure Azure cloud infrastructure while supporting developer productivity and operational reliability across hybrid engineering environments. The position involves Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD systems, monitoring, automated incident management, and Dev Sec Ops  practices within a fast-scaling European energy technology company.

Engineers in this role will collaborate across platform, operations, security, and development teams to improve deployment workflows, cloud operations, and system resilience while contributing to modern distributed infrastructure and automation practices commonly seen in blockchain infrastructure roles and cloud-native engineering organizations.

Teams involved in scaling a web3 team often look for similar operational experience around cloud automation, observability, and resilient infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

Operational engineering teams working in web3 infrastructure roles frequently prioritize automation, resilience, and developer enablement at scale.

  • Review and continuously improve existing cloud infrastructure while tracking developments across major cloud providers.
  • Apply monitoring systems and cloud-native application protection platforms to maintain high operational quality and security standards.
  • Improve Developer Experience (Dev Ex) by ensuring cloud platforms remain accessible, reliable, and efficient for development teams.
  • Contribute to building and operating a scalable cloud-native runtime environment supporting customer-facing energy solutions.
  • Improve deployment stability and automate operational workflows including load testing and vulnerability scanning.
  • Participate in architecture discussions involving cloud-native microservices, IoT applications, Salesforce integrations, and event-driven systems.
  • Support high availability, disaster recovery, multi-region deployments, and resilient cloud operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, sales, and technical teams to understand requirements and build effective infrastructure solutions.
Requirements

Experience in remote web3 jobs and distributed Dev Ops environments often aligns closely with these infrastructure engineering requirements.

  • 2+ years of experience in Azure cloud development and operations.
  • Experience building highly available and resilient cloud infrastructure, including multi-region replication and failover automation.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and automated incident management workflows.
  • Experience with Datadog is considered a plus.
  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes at scale.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, ideally Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally Azure Dev Ops.
  • Familiarity with clean code tools such as Sonar cloud and integrating them into development workflows.
  • Understanding of shift-left security strategies and security tooling for early vulnerability detection and mitigation.
  • Ability to work in environments emphasizing ownership, initiative, and continuous learning.
  • Strong alignment with agile and lean engineering principles focused on iterative development and reducing operational waste.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Full-time employment structure
  • Hybrid work flexibility between remote work and the Berlin office
  • Opportunity to work within Germany’s first green unicorn company
  • Diverse engineering organization with employees from more than 65 nationalities
  • Modern Berlin office environment with collaborative workspace amenities
  • Structured onboarding and internal learning opportunities
  • Team-focused culture with company events and feedback-driven growth practices
  • Engineering culture emphasizing ownership, initiative, and continuous improvement
  • Mission-driven work contributing directly to renewable energy adoption and climate-focused infrastructure initiatives
