LA Metro is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to spearhead the implementation of a robust enterprise network. The organization operates as the key transportation planner and operator for one of the nation’s largest counties, employing over 11,000 professionals. The Information and Technology Systems Department (ITS) oversees a complex technology infrastructure across 25 facilities within a 60-mile radius of the headquarters, managing over 4,000 computers, 600 servers, 170 critical applications, and diverse communication systems.
The Network Engineer contributes to 300+ ongoing projects focused on optimizing existing technologies and introducing innovative solutions aligned with Metro’s strategic business goals.

Role DescriptionAs a Senior Network Engineer at LA Metro, your primary role involves designing and implementing secure network architectures for IT/Small Data Center systems. You will:
- Plan and execute security protocols aligned with business strategies
- Promptly address security incidents and conduct post-event analyses
- Oversee system upgrades and conduct routine security assessments
- Seamlessly integrate networks to fortify the network"s security posture
- Maintain a resilient and secure environment within LA Metro's network infrastructure
Education &
Certifications:
Completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited institution is mandatory. The ideal candidate has five plus years of senior-level Network Engineering experience, Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications, and expertise in managing large mission-critical network infrastructure.
Looking for a Senior Network Engineer with over 5 years of experience in a mission-critical Cisco and Aruba environment, demonstrating proficiency in designing, configuring, and maintaining components within an expansive enterprise network.
Skills & Qualifications- Five (5) years of verifiable, recent senior-level Network Engineer experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining enterprise network components
The core hardware and software components that comprise complex large systems or enterprise networks; the ability to analyze and evaluate to plan, design, integrate, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot across similar and dissimilar technology platforms. Advisory knowledge of network security is a plus.
