IT Project Manager, Systems Analyst
About DTMB
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through services including building management, maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the PositionThis senior‑level IT Project Coordinator serves as a PMO resource to DTMB managers, supervisors, and staff involved in application maintenance and development.
Position LocationThis position is located in Lansing, MI and may work a hybrid schedule (remote/office) with two days required in the office per week. Work must be completed within Michigan.
Responsibilities- Coordinate project schedules that are logic and resource driven.
- Maintain the change control process and manage tracking of changes in scope.
- Identify project issues and risks and escalates to senior management as appropriate.
- Monitor project performance, report status, and facilitate action plans to promote adherence to project schedules.
- Interact with teams to develop and maintain project schedules and related documents.
- Assist in information gathering, budget analysis, project estimating, and procurement.
- Provide assistance on special projects.
- Promote compliance with the State Unified Information Technology Environment (SUITE).
- May utilize Scrum methodology and practices.
Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
Alternatively, possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in the same fields and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, project coordinator (IT technical project), or information technology technician; or 4,160 hours as an Information Technology Student Assistant may substitute for the education requirement.
Alternatively, completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, IT project coordinator (IT technical project), or information technology technician; or 8,320 hours as an Information Technology Student Assistant may substitute for the education requirement.
Experience RequirementsTwo years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Project Coordinator P11 coordinating the implementation of IT technical tools in a system development effort to solve a business need.
Benefits- May be eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $2,500, payable $1,250 upon new hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the 12‑month probationary period (excluding current state employees).
