Principal Product Manager, Public Sector - Remote

Job Overview

As part of Akamai's Cloud Technology Group (CTG), we empower customers to build powerful, distributed intelligent applications. The Principal Product Manager for Public Sector will shape the foundation of Akamai's next‑generation Government products, solving complex customer problems and meeting compliance standards while collaborating with federal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

• Lead product strategy and roadmap development aligned with Public Sector requirements and market opportunities.
• Gather and synthesize requirements from government agencies and internal stakeholders to guide product development.
• Define and track success metrics for new products and features from prototype through production deployment.
• Present product vision and updates to senior leadership and government stakeholders with compelling clarity.
• Build partnerships across product, engineering, and customer‑facing teams while maintaining effective communication channels.

• 10+ years of product management experience launching complex cloud/SaaS products and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• U.S. citizenship with a Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal civilian agencies in cleared environments.
• Deep understanding of U.S. Public Sector compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP and Cloud Impact Levels.
• Advanced technical knowledge in cloud computing, distributed systems, and cybersecurity.
• Comfortable operating in a matrixed organization and aligning stakeholders through clear communication and collaboration.
• Customer‑centric mindset, problem‑solving attitude, and commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

For U.S. based candidates only, the base salary ranges from $159,600–$287,400 per year, determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location. The package may also include incentive compensation, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Eligibility requirements apply.
