As a Principal AI Solutions Consultant at Vector8 in Switzerland, you will lead client engagements at the intersection of AI strategy, solution architecture, and technical delivery. You will shape the approaches that define how enterprise clients build, govern, and scale AI - and you will own the relationship long enough to see whether they actually land. You will work closely with consultants and engineering leads, and depending on the engagement, you will own the client relationship directly or serve as the technical lead.

Either way, the quality of thinking in the room is your responsibility.

• 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in technology or AI consulting in client-facing roles
• Proven track record advising senior stakeholders on AI, data, or digital transformation programs in regulated industries - Swiss financial services or insurance strongly preferred - pharma, public sector, or comparable regulated environments also considered
• Experience leading or significantly contributing to multi-workstream engagements spanning both business and technical components
• Deep domain expertise in at least one of: classical ML and MLOps, GenAI application development (RAG, evals, LLM orchestration), agentic systems, data platforms and architecture, AI strategy and operating model design, or responsible AI and model risk - with strong working knowledge of the adjacent areas
• Meaningful exposure to AI governance: EU AI Act, model risk management frameworks, or enterprise AI controls - enough to lead a client conversation, not just reference the regulation
• Strong technical understanding of AI, ML, and modern data architectures - hands‑on coding is not required, but you must be able to read an architecture critically, conduct a credible design review, and challenge engineering decisions on substance
• Strategy‑consultant craft: structured problem‑solving, clear written communication, comfort framing recommendations for C‑suite and board‑level audiences
• Commercial awareness: shaping engagement scope, owning proposals, and contributing to account growth
• Comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where you build the firm while you deliver for clients

• Lead senior client stakeholders through AI strategy, target architecture definition, and use case prioritisation - framing problems, shaping approaches, and maintaining enough proximity to delivery to keep recommendations executable
• Own complex, multi‑workstream engagements end‑to‑end: define outcomes, translate business ambition into delivery plans, and hold accountability for value realization
• Lead technical design reviews together with solution architects and engineering leads - bring credible alternatives when an approach is unlikely to hold up in production or under regulatory scrutiny
• Own or co‑own client relationships - anticipate stakeholder concerns, manage escalations, and develop account opportunities
• Drive AI governance advisory where relevant - helping clients interpret and ope rationalise EU AI Act obligations, design AI risk frameworks, and put enterprise controls in place that satisfy both board and regulator
• Support pre‑sales with credible scoping, realistic effort estimates, and a clear point of view on what is worth building and why
