Data Engineer, Data Analyst
The Quantitative Insights Consultant is a people and process manager with deep healthcare data expertise. They manage a team of data analysts who update, improve, and resolve bugs in our analytical tools. The consultant is accountable for on‑time updates, builds an improvement roadmap based on internal and client feedback, partners with data analysts, data scientists, engineers, and developers to implement improvements, and supports analysts in bug resolution.
They act as both an individual contributor on high‑priority projects and a manager who coaches and supports data analysts responsible for standard tool updates and issue resolution.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain prompt update cycle for key online data tools (supported by ETL data pipelines in AWS data suite)
- Identify opportunities for improvement in data product offerings, workflow management, and product delivery
- Partner with engineers and developers to build new analyses into scalable data pipelines
- Prototype new products and solutions
- Maintain familiarity with the state‑of‑the‑art around big data analytics and associated technologies and techniques
- Manage workload across team of 2-4 dedicated analysts
- Lead analyst skill development, technical proficiency, and data environment familiarity
- Backstop, troubleshoot, and lead QA of analyst analyses, pipelines, and deliverables
- Serve as a supporting voice for relevant client‑facing intake and delivery conversations
- Lead timeline management to ensure timely delivery of results to clients
- Scope and project manage to ensure client needs are met efficiently, allowing scale of operations
- 5+ years of experience in management and maintenance of big data systems (e.g. data schemas, ETL, data storage)
- 5+ years of experience in data manipulation, pipelining, and/or producing high‑quality data deliverables
- 5+ years of experience writing, editing, and troubleshooting complex queries (SQL, Python/Pyspark)
- 3+ years of experience in exploration and analysis of new datasets, with summaries and insights
- 2+ years People Management experience
- Experience working with Cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- Product management experience, preferably with a focus on producing data deliverables
- Experience in Redshift, S3, Glue, and other AWS applications
- Experience with client‑facing conversations, preferably focused on data delivery and dataset/methodology overview
- Demonstrated depth of health care knowledge and expertise
- Proven understanding of health care claims data, including Medicare and commercial datasets
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated team building and team culture skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401(k) contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full‑time employment.
