About the role
As an Axway Middleware Consultant, you will make an impact by designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable API and B2B integration solutions using Axway technologies. You will be a valued member of the Integration & Middleware team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, integration architects, and Dev Ops teams.
In this role, you will:- Lead API Gateway administration including API proxy development, routing, security policies, throttling, and monitoring within Axway Edge/API Gateway
- Manage secure file transfer operations using Axway Secure Relay to enable safe communication between internal and external networks
- Develop and maintain EDI mappings (X12, EDIFACT, XML) ensuring accurate data transformation and compliance with partner requirements
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration flows, API traffic, and system performance; analyze logs and resolve issues proactively
- Onboard trading partners and APIs by configuring communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, OFTP2) and enabling seamless integrations
- Strong hands-on experience with Axway B2
Bi, API Gateway (Edge), and Secure Relay - Deep knowledge of EDI/B2B standards (X12, EDIFACT) and partner onboarding processes
- Expertise in API security including OAuth, certificates, encryption, and access controls
- Experience with data mapping, transformation tools, and integration troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, DMZ, proxies, TLS, and secure file transfer
- Experience with scripting/automation using Shell, Python, or similar technologies
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and Dev Ops practices
- Prior experience working in complex enterprise integration environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work across cross-functional teams

Salary and Other Compensation:The annual salary for this position is between $83,600 – 132,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
