Role
Storage Engineer
Client LocationBlue Bell, PA
Remote Position100% Remote
Required Skills- 5+ years of dedicated enterprise storage engineering experience, with at least 3+ years focused on Dell EMC platforms.
- Dell EMC NAS Expertise:
Deep technical knowledge of Power Scale/Isilon (OneFS) architecture.
Experience with Smart Pools, Smart Quotas, SyncIQ, Insight
IQ, and DataIQ. - Object Storage Expertise:
Proven experience deploying and managing Dell EMC ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage). Strong understanding of object-based architectures, buckets, name spaces, and geo-replication. - Protocol Proficiency:
Advanced understanding of file and object protocols, including NFS (v3/v4), SMB/CIFS, and S3 API. - Networking & Systems:
Strong grasp of storage networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, LACP) and directory services integration (Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos). - Analytical
Skills:
Excellent problem‑solving skills with ability to analyze complex system logs and performance metrics.
- Experience with other Dell EMC storage arrays (Power Max, VPLEX) or SAN switches (Brocade, Cisco MDS).
- Familiarity with hybrid‑cloud storage tiering (e.g., Cloud Pools tiering to AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Power Shell, or Bash.
