Senior QA Automation Engineer: Selenium, Java & Qualitia

About the role

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer – Selenium, Java & Qualitia you will make an impact by driving high-quality, scalable, and reliable digital solutions through advanced automation and performance testing. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, product, and business teams, to ensure best-in-class testing practices across enterprise applications.

• Lead the design and implementation of robust test automation strategies across UI, API, and enterprise systems
• Architect and enhance automation frameworks to ensure optimal coverage, scalability, and efficiency
• Drive end-to-end quality assurance across cloud, web, APIs/services, and databases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership stakeholders to align quality strategies with business goals
• Execute and optimize performance and load testing for both UI and API layers while ensuring system reliability

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance and test automation in enterprise environments
• Hands‑on experience with QUALITIA test automation tool
• Strong expertise in automation frameworks and tools, including Selenium, Java, TestNG, SoapUI, or similar
• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise‑level test automation frameworks
• Hands‑on experience with API testing, BDD frameworks, and codeless/scriptless automation approaches
• Experience in performance and load testing for UI and APIs (e.g., JMeter)
• Solid understanding of Agile and Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD integration
• Experience with version control and Dev Ops tools (Git Hub, VSTS/Azure Dev Ops)
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

• Experience in the mortgage or financial services domain
• Exposure to tools such as Loan Runner or similar lending platforms
• Experience working with executive‑level stakeholders and influencing quality strategy
• Ability to mentor team members and drive QA best practices and innovation
• Strong experience in business workflow validation and real‑world scenario testing

The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
