We are seeking a Business Analyst to join a collaborative Agile team supporting enterprise insurance billing systems.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, ideal for someone who can step in quickly! This role is best suited for a mid-level Business Analyst with strong documentation skills, experience working in Agile environments, and familiarity with billing or insurance-related systems.
Duties:- Lead requirements gathering and documentation for billing-related initiatives
- Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineers, and QA to translate business needs into clear technical requirements
- Support troubleshooting efforts and clarify business rules within billing workflows
- Maintain and improve documentation across systems (primarily Jira and related tools)
- Participate in Agile ceremonies as part of a cross-functional delivery team
- Help ensure smooth knowledge transition from legacy subject matter experts
- Experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile environment
- Background in insurance billing (highly preferred)
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication
- Familiarity with Jira and other documentation or tracking tools
- Ability to work in a flexible, problem-solving-oriented environment
- Basic understanding of QA/UAT concepts (hands-on testing not required)
- Understanding of invoicing, payments, cancellations, reinstatements, and policy-to-billing workflows
- Experience with Guidewire or similar insurance platforms
- Prior experience in insurance or financial systems
