Instructional Designer – Leidos Holding – Ladson, Dorchester County, SC

Leidos is positioned to address emerging and evolving threats through rapid development of innovative solutions for our global customers. The Leidos SES currently has an opening for an Instructional Designer to primarily support aviation security equipment and evaluation of our P&B training offerings.
Candidate qualifications include a combination of subject matter expertise, interpersonal, written, oral communication and presentation skills. Ideal candidates will have experience creating technical procedures, training curriculum, and documentation, and be able to disseminate ILT content and restructure courses to follow a blended learning structure.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and redesign ILT courses/courseware to optimize learning by integrating digital solutions, following the ADDIE model.
- Consult with trainers and management on suggested changes and how to optimize.
- Develop engaging digital content for operator and maintenance training programs, integrating storyboards, e-learning, videos, webinars, virtual classroom, micro‑learning modules and other multimedia formats.
- Develop digital recertification training packages from existing ILT materials.
- Analyze, update and refine existing online content.
- Reformat and digitize training tests/assessments to become LMS ready.
- Interface with all departments—including production, engineering, software developers, technical trainers, technical support staff and all levels of management—to develop relevant and current content.
- Develop training materials for aviation network solutions such as Pro Sight for On‑Prem and Enterprise solutions, deliver global training, cross‑train others and maintain partnership with Engineering to capture the latest configurations.
- Audit P&B training courses and provide suggestions for change to management.
- Collaborate with the LMS administrator to manage and facilitate digital instructional materials, ensuring content is available to the correct audiences and packaged into blended learning structures.
- Support aviation training delivery on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent education and experience).
- Minimum 10 years as a subject matter expert on aviation product related industries.
- Minimum 10 years directly related training and development experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with publishing software and LMS‑ready tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate across departments and deliver operator and technical training courses to customers.
- Pay range: $78,000 - $141,000.
