Our team provides centralized IT project management for technology projects across all County departments. We use standard project management principles, processes, tools, and software to ensure project delivery and success.
There is one full‑time vacancy for an IT Manager in the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Information Services and Technology Department (IST).
Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the PMO Manager is responsible for advancing modern project and portfolio management practices that enable strategic delivery, organizational agility, transparency, and continuous improvement across County technology initiatives. The individual in this position promotes effective project and portfolio management practices across the organization and collaborates extensively with IST leadership, leaders and employees from other County departments, and other key stakeholders.
The PMO Manager will help guide enterprise technology modernization efforts by fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and collaborative delivery practices. They also supervise a team of project managers and project coordinators, taking an active role in performance management, coaching, team building, and employee development.

Remote Work OptionsSome duties for this position may be performed remotely and options for a hybrid (telework/onsite) work schedule are available. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for various meetings and work assignments upon short notice, as needed, and when deemed appropriate.
Ideal Candidate ProfileExceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills supported by strong analytical abilities and technical expertise in project and portfolio management methodologies, tools, and delivery practices. Specifically, the candidate is significantly experienced in:
- Project portfolio management.
- Delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Supervising and/or leading professional staff in a team environment.
- Building collaborative partnerships across business and technical teams.
- Facilitating strategic planning, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.
- Promoting innovation and modern service delivery practices.
- Managing competing priorities in dynamic environments.
- Using data, metrics, and dashboards to support portfolio decision‑making.
- Providing reports and conducting presentations for senior leadership and project stakeholders.
- Staying current and updated with Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices and making recommendations regarding advancements and changes.
Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or related credentials are highly desirable.
