Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing
What You’ll Do:
- Working with BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, Multicast, MPLS, QoS, Firewalls, and WAN technologies.
- Providing support on with Cloud IaaS with MS Azure.
- Cloud automation, including experience with Python, and Terraform.
- Knowledge and experience in other areas of Digital Technology (security, computing, operating systems, application infrastructure and development, etc.) will help you adapt to the business acumen of the area.
- Immerse yourself with Edward Jones’s digital transformation environment by following Agile and Scrum best practices.
- Investigate complex network related issues to resolution.
- Analyze requirements and develop and deploy technical solutions according to business objectives.
- Analyze requirements, determine feasibility, costs, benefits, etc., and subsequently develop and present a business case / recommendation.
- Align Digital Technology and Firm objectives, and provide strategic direction and technical leadership.
- Mentor and build the technical skills of others, and foster a strong and collaborative team environment.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation approximately five to six times per year, with each rotation lasting seven days, supporting coverage across multiple teams.
- Be available for evening and weekend production changes as needed, with most after‑hours work completed remotely.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or related work experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with enterprise network solutions (HW and SW defined networks, routing, switching, firewall, application load balancing, wireless, DNS, monitoring, and packet analysis).
- Experience with firewalls required.
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls preferred.
- Experience with IaC preferred.

. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on‑site work.
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
