About the Role

As the Principal Project Manager, you will lead and govern complex infrastructure and mainframe modernization projects while serving as a trusted client-facing leader. Your role will operate within a consulting environment, requiring an executive presence, deep technical expertise, and disciplined project oversight.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and govern large-scale infrastructure and mainframe modernization projects from client onboarding through transition into managed services.
  • Define and own the engagement strategy, governance model, and integrated project plan.
  • Serve as the primary contact for executive-level client stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate and align consulting, technical, and operational teams across multiple work streams.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and records for risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID logs).
  • Identify, manage, and escape risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies proactively.
  • Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Guide clients through the organizational changes associated with modernization and managed services transitions.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with Ensono methodologies, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Create and deliver polished communications and presentations for executive-level stakeholders.
  • Build trusted client relationships while protecting scope, timelines, and financial outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor team members to foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading complex IT programs and projects.
  • PMP certification is essential.
  • Deep experience across enterprise IT infrastructure (compute, storage, network, operating systems, and cloud platforms).
  • Managed services experience
    , including transitions to steady-state operations.
  • Consulting experience with external clients.
  • Strong financial management skills (budgets, forecasting, cost control).
  • Proven ability to engage and influence C-level executives.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with mainframe modernization projects.
  • Knowledge or certification in ITIL
    .
  • Knowledge or certification in ITSM.
  • Experience in project financial management/revenue recognition.
  • M.B.A. or B.S. in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering; or equivalent work experience.

As of the posting date, the expected salary range for this role is $112,000 to $163,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Note that placement in this range varies based on skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. Additionally, compensation programs may include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance and equity grants.
