Responsibilities
- Owning the vision, roadmap, and execution of Verizon's AI GRC team.
- Ensuring AI‑centric risk management processes and outcomes are established through policies and controls based on organizational priorities and tolerance.
- Performing regular reviews of AI applications for compliance and alignment, documenting risks and mitigation strategies as part of the risk management review process.
- Documenting processes for information/technology risk assessments and thresholds that warrant a more in-depth review.
- Leading the creation of automation for 80%+ of the AI risk assessment process.
- Overseeing the creation of an AI compliance program and dashboard.
- Facilitating an AI security training program, ensuring the business is aware of AI cyber risk and associated best practices.
- Guiding the review and prioritization of AI projects in alignment with organizational risk priorities.
- Ensuring timely and well‑orchestrated Verizon Cyber Security (VCS) engagement in Verizon’s secure AI efforts.
- Serving as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise on AI security concerns.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum eight years of relevant experience in IT, cybersecurity, and/or AI disciplines, with progressive leadership responsibilities, including at least three years focused on AI/ML security technologies.
- Experience performing comprehensive risk assessments.
- Strong technical knowledge of AI/ML technologies.
- Experience with security policy creation.
- Experience conducting third‑party risk assessments.
- Knowledge of AI‑related risks and mitigation strategies for Generative AI solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of cyber‑based frameworks including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, MITRE ATLAS, and OWASP Top 10 LLM.
- Knowledge of large enterprise environments, cloud infrastructure and services, network protocols, network devices, multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.) and secure architectures.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
- Highly collaborative, able to influence peers and senior leaders.
- Experience working on cross‑functional teams including engineering, product, legal and security.
In this hybrid role, employees will work from home and spend a minimum of three days per week in the office. The specific location will be set by the manager. Employees must comply with hybrid work policies.

Compensation may include premium pay such as overtime, shift differential, holiday pay, and allowances. Newly hired employees receive up to 15 days of vacation per year, growing with service. Part‑time employees may be eligible for some benefits.
The annual salary range for the full‑time position is $126,000 to $242,000, based on location and confirmed skills and experience.
