Overview
Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Remote - California)
This role offers a chance to design and implement advanced security solutions that safeguard critical systems and data from evolving cyber threats. You will play a key role in protecting the organization by defining security requirements, performing risk assessments, and developing strategies to detect, respond to, and recover from incidents. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, collaborates with technical teams, and stays ahead of emerging threats and technologies.

- Harden internal and external systems to minimize vulnerability and protect against cyber threats
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain security technologies and architectures in collaboration with technical teams
- Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
- Develop reporting and remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities or misconfigurations
- Document and maintain security architecture, policies, standards, and procedures
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, providing guidance and support to affected teams
- Assist Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams with vendor risk management and regulatory adherence
- Monitor emerging threats, trends, and technologies to inform proactive security strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field
- 4-6 years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering role
- Strong understanding of cloud security, particularly AWS architectures and services
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, PAM, and DLP
- Hands-on experience with threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident response
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Passion for cybersecurity and a desire to continuously expand knowledge and certifications
