This is a fully remote role with a stable organization that offers strong benefits, long-term growth potential, and the opportunity to contribute to work that supports better healthcare outcomes.

This position is best suited for someone who can work across both the data layer and the reporting layer
. The ideal candidate is not just a dashboard builder. They should be comfortable preparing data, validating data, building SQL-based workflows, documenting business logic, and creating dashboards that stakeholders can trust.

Position Overview

The Business Intelligence Developer will help transform complex healthcare and operational data into accurate reporting assets, dashboards, and analytical outputs. This person will work closely with internal analytics teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to clarify reporting needs, prepare data, validate results, and deliver usable business intelligence solutions.

The role requires strong SQL skills, practical ETL experience, data warehouse knowledge, business requirements gathering, and hands-on dashboard development. Candidates should be comfortable working in an environment where accuracy, documentation, and data quality matter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with analysts, technical teams, and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, clarify definitions, and translate requirements into usable data and BI solutions.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards, reports, and interactive visual tools using platforms such as Tableau, Amazon Quick Sight, Power BI, or similar BI technologies.
  • Develop SQL-based data preparation and transformation processes to support reporting, analytics, and dashboard delivery.
  • Work with Microsoft SQL Server environments to support data ingestion, staging, transformation, validation, and production reporting workflows.
  • Use T-SQL, stored procedures, reusable SQL logic, and parameter-driven processes to support repeatable data loads and reporting processes.
  • Create data quality checks to identify missing values, duplicates, invalid records, inconsistent formats, unexpected trends, and source-to-target mismatches.
  • Support movement of data from raw or staged formats into structured reporting tables, warehouse models, or analytics-ready datasets.
  • Translate business rules, project specifications, and reporting definitions into accurate SQL transformation logic.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies, failed loads, report issues, dashboard performance problems, and stakeholder questions about results.
  • Support testing and validation before reports, dashboards, or data outputs are delivered to stakeholders.
  • Document data mappings, transformation rules, validation checks, reporting definitions, workflow steps, and known assumptions.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Manage multiple reporting and data projects at the same time while maintaining quality, accuracy, and clear communication.
Data Environment

The work may involve a variety of healthcare and business data sources, such as:

  • Medical claims
  • Pharmacy claims

  • Clinical or laboratory data
  • EHR/EMR-derived data
  • Survey or review data
  • Registry data
  • Operational or financial data
  • Quality, performance, or compliance-related reporting data

Healthcare data experience is strongly preferred, especially with claims, eligibility, clinical, quality, or payer/provider data. Candidates from other regulated data environments may also be relevant if they have strong SQL, ETL, reporting, and validation discipline.
