IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

The Senior Database  Engineer ensures application uptime by implementing and testing HA/DR solutions across on-prem and Azure environments. This role drives performance optimization through proactive monitoring and tuning,leverages automation and Infrastructure-as-Code for efficiency, and resolves complex issues. Acting as a trusted advisor, theSenior

DBE partners with delivery teams to recommend solutions andmentorsto elevate technical standards.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA,OR,,AZ, TX, GA,NC, VA, CA,or SC.Ifyou'relocated in

Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we arerequestingthat you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Design and Secure Infrastructure:Build andmaintainrobust, secure, andhighly available database environments across Azure and On-prem platforms that power BECU's mission.

• Automate for Efficiency:Develop and manage automated processes using
  
  SQL,Power Shell,andIaCtostreamline operations across the ecosystem.

• Create Impactful Solutions:Use tools like SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSASand Azure Data Factoryto deliver solutions that solvereal business challenges.

• Advance CI/CD Practices:Build and enhance pipelines for database artifacts, ensuring smooth deployments and continuous improvement.

• Monitor and Optimize:Utilize
  
  SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and Query Store to proactivelymonitorand tune performance.

• Be the Go-To Expert:Provide escalated support and resolve complex issues to keep systems running seamlessly.

• Mentor and Inspire:Guide junior engineers and delivery teams through coaching, code reviews, and sharing best practices.

• Shape the Future:Collaborate with architects and product owners to define technology roadmaps and drive innovation.

• Champion Quality:Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that elevate system performance and reliability.

• Share Knowledge:Present technical topics to the broader engineering community, fostering collaboration and learning.
