Position: Sr. Solution Engineer (ERP Presales)

Position Summary

In this role, you will engage in sales opportunities, participate actively in customer meetings, and collaborate closely with our Senior Account Executives to address customers’ needs and challenges. The Sr. Solution Engineer serves as the primary liaison to our internal Delivery and Strategic Services teams, drawing on functional expertise with one or more Rimini Street products and articulating the strategy and roadmap for all supported products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner with Senior Account Executives to support and influence sales opportunities across North American markets.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand technical needs, address challenges, and provide expert guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery and Product teams worldwide to secure accurate pricing, delivery approvals, and alignment on solution feasibility.
  • Deliver compelling presentations on Rimini Street’s services and support model—virtually and in person—addressing technical objections from application managers, developers, DBAs, and C‑suite executives.
  • Develop comprehensive scoping requirements that define the services to be delivered, ensuring clarity and accuracy for downstream execution.
  • Contribute to company‑wide initiatives supporting the growth and profitability of the product lines.
  • Travel as required: approximately 25% of the time to support sales deals and occasional global initiatives.
Experience
  • 12 to 15 years’ experience in a Pre‑Sales Engineering Role or Pre‑Sales Solution Architect role within applications, technology, or database ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success in a consultative selling environment and in global, matrixed organizations.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing, supporting, or architecting complex ERP applications across global enterprises.
  • Track record partnering with Sales Representatives throughout the sales cycle, contributing to opportunity strategy and successful deal closure.
  • Experience with full‑lifecycle software implementations (discovery, design, deployment, post‑go‑live support).
  • Experience with application and technology migration projects, including lift‑and‑shift initiatives to public cloud platforms.
Required Qualifications
  • Mastery of software licensing models for major enterprise ERP and database platforms (SAP, Oracle, IBM) with strong understanding of service level alignment, compliance, and cost‑impacting licensing structures.
  • Deep cross‑platform knowledge of enterprise applications and technology stacks, including variations across vendors.
  • Broad familiarity with enterprise applications, middleware, and database technologies spanning vendor‑specific and heterogeneous environments.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing challenges like entitlement validation, audit exposure, consumption‑based models, and cloud impacts.
  • Experience with application and database security, including PCI, NERC, and CIP standards, and applying these across mixed‑vendor landscapes.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and hybrid deployment models and how enterprise applications operate in public, private, and on‑premises environments.
Skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal, and presentation communication for technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities throughout the sales cycle.
  • Strong public‑speaking and facilitation skills for phone conversations, onsite meetings, and conference presentations.
  • Proficiency in producing clear, professional documentation using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce.
  • Highly disciplined and able to thrive in a remote work environment, requiring flexibility beyond traditional 9–5 hours.
