Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Senior Manager, Data Excellence to join our team in Raritan, NJ. Remote work options may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and if approved by the Company.
PurposeThe Senior Manager, Data Excellence is responsible for defining, governing and continuously improving business data capabilities that enable high‑quality decision‑making across the Surgery Supply Chain and Operations. This role serves as a strategic partner to business, digital and transformation leaders to ensure data is accurate, trusted, standardised and fit for purpose across end‑to‑end processes and platforms.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Governance – Define and drive the enterprise data excellence strategy aligned with business priorities, digital roadmaps and J&J standards; establish and govern data ownership, stewardship and decision rights; lead adoption of common data standards, definitions and policies.
- Data Quality, Controls & Compliance – Own and drive data quality frameworks, metrics and issue management; partner with Quality, IT and Compliance to ensure alignment with GxP, SOX, privacy and regulatory requirements; proactively identify systemic data risks and lead corrective actions.
- Business Enablement & Analytics – Enable business teams with trusted data and insights by translating business needs into data and insight requirements; champion data literacy and self‑service analytics adoption across the organisation.
- Transformation & Digital Programs – Lead data excellence activities for large‑scale transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP, S/4
HANA, planning platforms, digital tools); ensure data readiness throughout design, build, testing, migration and deployment; drive cross‑functional alignment across business, IT and system integrators. - Operating Model & Capability Building – Design and evolve scalable data operating models, including global‑local ways of working and governance forums; lead, coach and develop data excellence talent; influence without authority in a complex, matrixed organisation.
Demonstrates leadership aligned to the Johnson & Johnson Leadership Imperatives, acts with integrity and transparency, drives outcomes through collaboration and continuous improvement, and fosters a culture of accountability.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, digital enablement or business excellence within a complex enterprise environment.
- 5+ years of people‑management experience and proven leadership in data governance, data quality or enterprise transformation.
- Strong ability to operate across business and technology stakeholders in a matrixed organisation.
- Demonstrated experience influencing senior leaders and driving change without direct authority.
- Experience with ERP and analytics ecosystems such as SAP S/4
HANA, planning systems and data platforms. - Exposure to regulated environments (Med Tech, Pharma, Consumer).
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications in data, analytics or process excellence (preferred).
Up to 30% travel may be required, both domestic and international.
