We are seeking an experienced People Soft People Tools Engineer responsible for the architecture, installation, configuration, upgrade, and ongoing technical operation of enterprise People Soft environments. In this role you will own the technical backbone of the People Soft platform — including People Tools upgrades, image applications, security configurations, search server operations, and integration with cloud and middleware platforms. The ideal candidate will combine deep People Tools and People Soft administration experience with strong fundamentals in Oracle database, Linux/Unix, and modern Dev Ops practices.

You will work closely with cross‑functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well‑engineered solutions, and will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production.

• Install, configure, and operate People Soft environments across development, test, training, and production.
• Lead People Tools upgrades, People Soft Update Manager (PUM) image applications, and patch deployments.
• Manage application servers, process schedulers, web servers (Web Logic), and the integration broker gateway.
• Administer Elasticsearch / Open Search (or Verity legacy) deployments supporting People Soft search.
• Perform People Soft system copies, refreshes, and clones across environments, applying disciplined engineering practices and partnering closely with stakeholders to ensure outcomes are durable, well‑documented, and aligned with broader team and platform standards.
• Implement and tune database connectivity, including Oracle Database administration tasks in partnership with DBA teams.
• Configure People Soft security at the application, web, and infrastructure layers.
• Operate People Soft Cloud Manager or equivalent automation tooling where applicable.
• Design and operate HA/DR strategies for People Soft environments, applying disciplined engineering practices and partnering closely with stakeholders to ensure outcomes are durable, well‑documented, and aligned with broader team and platform standards.
• Develop automation tooling using shell, Python, or Ansible to reduce operational toil.
• Monitor system health and performance, leading capacity planning and tuning activities.
• Provide hands‑on post‑go‑live and hyper‑care support, working closely with operations teams to triage incidents quickly, identify root causes, and drive durable fixes that improve long‑term system stability.
• Maintain comprehensive, current technical documentation — including architecture diagrams, design decisions, configuration references, runbooks, and operational procedures — so that the system remains supportable, auditable, and easy to onboard new engineers over time.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level engineers through code review, design review, pair programming, and structured knowledge sharing, helping the broader team grow in technical maturity and confidence over time.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of People Soft People Tools administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with People Tools upgrades and People Soft Update Manager (PUM).
