Network Engineer
II/III participates in planning, development, and support of data network technology solutions. The role ensures availability, performance, health and operations of data network systems across WAN, LAN, WLAN, VLAN, Data Center and remote office routers and switches.
- Network System Administration: install, configure and maintain network routers, switches and appliances; design IP addressing, routing policy, DNS, DHCP and NTP services; perform regular IOS, NXOS, firmware and software updates; monitor network equipment for availability, performance and capacity; implement redundant, diverse, and resilient routing designs.
- Cisco Meraki & Nexus Administration: manage and maintain the Meraki dashboard and reporting, provision and deploy Meraki WAPs and Access Switches.
- Carrier Administration: monitor, manage and support carrier services, vendors and WAN services.
- Network Access Control Administration: administer NAC profiles and policies for authentication and user access.
- General IT Support: provide technical support to the Service Desk; handle daily incidents and requests related to networking; participate in 24/7 on‑call coverage.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals, IP address management, dynamic routing protocols and medium types.
- Knowledge of network authentication, DNS, DHCP and NTP, and ability to configure equipment connections and routing/switching protocol standards.
- Familiarity with various network hardware and operating systems, including troubleshooting.
- Foundational knowledge of networking logic design—routing domains, switching and logical configuration.
- Excellent customer service, communication and collaboration skills.
The estimated annual salary range is approximately $76,000–$90,000 for Network Engineer
II and $90,000–$115,000 for Network Engineer
III, based on experience and qualifications.
