Sr. Analyst, CAF Technical Support and Reporting

Position

Sr. Analyst, Technical Support and Business Monitoring (Car Max Auto Finance (CAF)).

The Sr. Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates complex IT systems operations tickets to provide application support to Car Max end‑users. Support can be reactive to production problems, system outages, and immediate business changes, or proactive to support planned business objectives. The role mentors new or junior support analysts and provides leadership in operational reporting and dashboard efforts.

• Provide business monitoring to all areas of CAF Operations by determining key metrics or data needs, leveraging company systems and databases to obtain data, extracting data using code and translating key metrics into standardized reports.
• Conduct data analysis and evaluate trending information including Service‑Now reporting and monitoring.
• Lead and/or support planning, development, testing, implementation, customer reporting, and user support for IT systems applications.
• Develop functional specifications, perform functional analysis, module configuration, data conversion, and testing.
• Mentor junior analysts in their work.
• Debug and troubleshoot basic to complex system challenges.
• Evaluate the ROI of requests, influence decisions, and balance business needs with effort required.
• Perform complex root cause analysis through multiple applications and identify short‑ and long‑term solutions.
• Interact with business users at CAF and Home Office IT to understand system issues, contributing factors, and assist in determining resolutions.
• Maintain strong knowledge of database schemas and use structured query language tools.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and contribute to system enhancements design.
• Develop a visual reporting framework to provide the business with effective tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field preferred and/or 4+ years of experience in a technical/support role.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server scripting and data models.
• Experience with SQL Transmitter, DB Artesian, and Teradata relational database design/dimensional modeling.
• Experience with database schemas, data migration and scripting.
• Experience with security and data protection, security compliance and data storage solutions.
• Experience with reusable code and libraries, server‑side logic, authentication/authorization, and unit testing.
• Experience with automated/performance testing.

This role will be based out of Atlanta, GA – Car Max Auto Finance Office (Kennesaw, GA). Associates will work onsite 4 days per week.
