Senior Dev Ops & Back-end Engineer – Strategy & Corporate Finance

Contract Length - 12 months (with potential extension)

Rate - Flexible – Dependent on Experience (DOE)

We are working with a world-leading strategy and corporate finance organisation that builds advanced financial intelligence and analytics platforms used by senior decision-makers globally.

You will join a high-impact engineering and analytics team responsible for designing, scaling, and operating cloud-native systems that process large volumes of complex data. The environment is fast-paced, technically strong, and encourages ownership, autonomy, and engineering excellence

This role offers a strong balance of Dev Ops leadership (≈80%) combined with hands-on backend development (≈20%).

• Design, build, and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure supporting data-intensive platforms
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred) for microservice orchestration
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern Dev Ops best practices
• Configure, manage, and optimize databases and messaging systems including:
  Mongo
  
  DB Kafka
• Ensure high standards around:
  System reliability and performance Disaster recovery and resilience
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform stability
• Contribute to backend development using Scala (preferred) and Python
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and data processing pipelines
• Work closely with other engineers to ensure clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Support product, analytics, and business teams by delivering scalable technical solutions

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS
  , Terraform
  , and Kubernetes
• Solid experience with Docker and Linux-based systems
• Experience managing Postgre
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, and Kafka
• CI/CD experience (Git Hub Actions preferred)
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and system observability

• Experience developing and debugging Scala/JVM-based applications and Python services
• Good understanding of: RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture, Data-intensive backend systems

• Work with a globally recognised strategy & finance organisation
