About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced HCM and Payroll Solution Consultant who thrives at the intersection of high-level strategy and technical execution. This hybrid Solution Consulting and Strategic Advisor role blends the broad, organizational vision of an Enterprise Architect with the detailed, "how-to" expertise required to architect transformation at federal organizations.
Responsibilities- Lead workshops with prospective Federal Contractors and Agencies to uncover pain points, define business challenges, and develop aligned strategic solutions.
- Translate complex ERP requirements into cohesive, mission-ready platform, HCM, and Payroll strategies.
- Provide expert technical overviews and deep-dive product demonstrations that highlight the unique value of the Workday platform.
- Serve as an industry subject matter expert, guiding prospects from initial market-level presentations through executive-level closing meetings.
- Partner with the extended sales team to qualify prospects, define demonstration criteria, build Proof of Concepts (POCs), and execute sales closure plans.
- Take an active role in crafting comprehensive and compelling responses to RFIs and RFPs.
- Support cross-functional sales, marketing, and channel objectives by presenting at webinars, customer forums, industry conferences, and trade shows.
- Deep expertise as a Solution Consultant specializing in HCM and Payroll.
- Exceptional executive presence with polished, persuasive presentation techniques.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Senior Presales Solution Consultant: 4+ years of experience in Federal or Federal Contractor Presales and 4+ years of experience in HCM Solution Consulting in Federal environments, with expert knowledge of Enterprise (ERP) systems covering HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, and HR Finance.
- Principal Presales Solution Consultant: 6+ years of experience in Federal or Federal Contractor Presales and 6+ years of experience in HCM Solution Consulting in Federal environments, with expert knowledge of Enterprise (ERP) systems covering HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, and HR Finance.
- Presales/Sales Consulting experience with HCM/Payroll enterprise business solutions.
- Unrivaled presentation, communication, and decision-maker influencing skills.
- Expert knowledge of Workday Human Capital Management/Payroll software.
- Ability to enthusiastically communicate Workday’s unique value and demonstrate Platform, HCM and Payroll solutions.
- Extensive consulting skills and experience with value-based selling.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
Base salary ranges USD $126,000–$189,000 for the primary location in Reston, VA and for additional U.S. locations. The role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, and annual refresh stock grants. For more information, refer to Workday’s pay transparency policy.
