ButWhat's the Job?
As an ITSM Automation Engineer (Engineer, Systems Operations), you will play a key role in developing automation workflows, optimizing infrastructure tools, and driving operational efficiency across the organization. You will implement AI-powered solutions that integrate with our enterprise systems to deliver workflow automations that improve productivity, processes, and decision-making. This position blends automation design and development with systems engineering, focusing on enhancing IT operational processes and supporting enterprise-grade tools.
Responsibilities- Build AI-enabled workflows, prototypes, and tools that improve productivity and decision-making.
- Collaborate with IT operations teams to analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for AI-driven automation with existing IT systems.
- Design, develop, and deploy automation scripts and tools to replace manual tasks and improve service delivery.
- Develop and maintain integrations between CRM, ITSM, and other enterprise applications using APIs, web services, and connectors.
- Write and document clean, efficient, and maintainable code using JavaScript, Python, API, and related technologies.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, document requirements, and iterate rapidly on solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, workflows, and customizations.
- Monitor and optimize automated processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with IT process owners, operations, and cybersecurity teams to identify automation opportunities and enforce best practices.
- Act as a subject-matter expert and escalation point for tooling-related issues.
- Work with project teams and business stakeholders to understand and document operations procedures.
- Provide training and support to IT teams with new automation tools and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance IT operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, IT operations, or ITSM platform development.
- Proven expertise in APM, On-Call, IAM, and ITSM concepts, with hands-on experience in platforms such as Data Dog, Splunk On-Call, Okta, and Fresh Service highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Power Shell, Python, JavaScript, Bash).
- Hands-on day-to-day experience with AI development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude).
- Experience with REST / SOAP APIs, web services, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and ITSM best practices.
- Understanding of CI / CD pipelines and Dev Ops principles.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with workflow engines, orchestration tools, and RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) is a plus.
- Certifications in ITSM platforms and ITIL Foundation are highly desirable.
Occasional Sunday work for upgrades and maintenance; participation in on-call rotation.
