Senior Data Scientist

RGG Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. You will work with the Data Science team to build innovative solutions that power our online retail business.

• Work on challenging data science projects including Generative AI, NLP, image recognition, recommendation systems, and advanced statistical prediction models to drive revenue and enhance personalized shopping experiences for our 50 million members.
• Build end-to-end large-scale batch and real-time software data pipelines for data processing.
• Identify and lead strategic analytics and predictive modeling opportunities, leveraging AI and machine learning (ML) to optimize business processes and product offerings.
• Design, execute, and manage advanced A/B testing frameworks to validate and optimize product features and improve algorithmic performance.
• Architect scalable software solutions and data services capable of handling complex, high-volume data workloads.
• Utilize a modern technology stack, including Spark, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Snowflake, Airflow, and AWS services.
• Lead and manage large-scale, cross-functional projects, engaging with Marketing, Engineering, Merchandising, and Executive Leadership.
• Analyze problems to identify new AI opportunities and brainstorm next-generation AI product ideas.
• Evaluate AI strategies and software solutions for technical feasibility, scalability, and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement cross-functional data exchange and AI microservices.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across diverse teams.
• Identify and integrate emerging technologies to advance the AI platform, focusing on Generative AI and personalization.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Serve as an AI evangelist, leading training sessions and tech talks.
• Solve complex problems with innovative approaches and lead research initiatives, translating machine learning and AI research papers into production-ready models.
• Work in multi-functional agile teams to deliver data-driven software product objectives.

This is a hybrid position working from the Boston, MA office and from a home office within normal commuting distance.

• Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 2 years of experience in an occupation with advanced data analytics.
• Industry or academic experience delivering software development, machine learning, and data science projects end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of system design, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
• Demonstrated fluency in Python and SQL with a background producing clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Experience using Spark and the AWS ecosystem.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools including Cloud formation and Terraform.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data and table design.
• Experience working in an agile environment producing deliverables in a quick and iterative manner.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of: recommendation systems, NLP/LLMs, computer vision, or predictive modeling for consumer-facing applications.
• Experience using modern ML frameworks including PyTorch and/or Tensor Flow.
• Experience using GPU-accelerated training.
• Track record leading research initiatives and translating complex academic research papers into functional, production-ready code.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a close-knit team.

Salary: $154,606 - $164,606.
