Are you a hands‑on Business Intelligence leader who combines analytical rigour, commercial thinking, and a proven‑track record of turning complex data into actionable insights?
As Principal Business Intelligence Specialist at Jagex, you will be responsible for shaping how data is transformed into trusted reporting and decision‑making across the business. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Products, you'll lead our Business Intelligence capability, driving the delivery, quality, and adoption of reporting products that support teams across Finance, Commercial, Product, Marketing, and Operations.
This is a highly visible and impactful role where you'll combine strategic oversight with hands‑on expertise, ensuring stakeholders at every level, from operational teams through to executives and board members, have access to accurate, intuitive, and actionable insights. You'll work closely with Data Engineering, Data Science, and business leaders to establish a single source of truth and raise the standard of reporting across the organisation.
Whatyou'll be doing:
- Lead the Business Intelligence function at Jagex, setting high standards for reporting quality, consistency, usability, and governance.
- Own the roadmap for dashboards, reporting products, and management information used across commercial, finance, product, and operational teams.
- Translate business challenges into clear metrics, analytical frameworks, and reporting solutions that support better decision‑making.
- Act as the senior point of contact for BI priorities, helping stakeholders define requirements and make informed trade‑offs.
- Design and oversee scalable reporting solutions using Tableau and Periscope, backed by trusted data models in Snowflake.
- Establish KPI definitions, reporting standards, and validation processes that ensure teams operate from a single version of the truth.
- Identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and reporting risks, applying rigorous validation and quality control processes.
- Partner closely with Data Engineering to improve upstream data structures, transformation logic, and documentation.
- Drive improvements in reporting performance, data freshness, governance, and stakeholder confidence.
- Implement and champion best practices including Git Hub‑based workflows, peer review, release processes, and reporting standards.
- Prioritise work effectively across operational reporting, strategic insight initiatives, and business transformation projects.
- Build strong partnerships across Finance, Commercial, Product, Technology, and Data teams to ensure reporting delivers measurable business value.
- Proven experience as a hands‑on technical BI professional, and representing, translating and communicating business intelligence to inform decision‑making and action.
- Deep hands‑on expertise with Tableau and/or Periscope, including dashboard design, performance optimisation, and user experience.
- Strong experience working with Snowflake and modern analytical data models.
- Solid understanding of Git Hub‑based development workflows, version control, and release management.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a strong instinct for validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.
- Experience defining KPIs, executive reporting, and management information frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical teams.
