Position: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Miami, FL - 3x a week onsite - Tuesday - Thursday (Monday and Friday work from home)

Duration : 6+ month rolling contract

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior or Principal Network Engineer to join their dynamic infrastructure team, with a laser focus on critical incident response and operational stability. This role is pivotal in managing and resolving Priority 1 (P1) and Priority 2 (P2) network incidents across a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, demonstrates deep technical expertise, and can swiftly restore services during high-impact outages.

* This is a hands-on operational role with potentially some on-call. The engineer will not be involved in architecture, design, or long-term strategic planning.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of P1/P2 network incidents across WAN, LAN, and connectivity environments
• Act as the primary escalation point for critical outages and performance degradation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure rapid incident containment and root cause analysis
• Maintain and optimize SD-WAN configurations, routing protocols, and firewall policies
• Document incident response actions and contribute to post-mortem reviews

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

• 8+ years as a Network Engineer in enterprise environments

• Versa SD-WAN (okay with any SDWAN but versa preferred)

• Strong hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF

• Cisco Nexus platforms

• Palo Alto Networks (okay with any firewall background)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cisco or Aruba wireless infrastructure

• Connectivity experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP

• Aruba switching and access control solutions
