Overview
The work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of CMS. You will be trusted to lead project teams through analyses and tool development to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in the Medicare programs.
Responsibilities- Manage analytics and machine learning projects from kick‑off to completion, ensuring analytic rigor and actionable results to detect and deter FWA.
- Guide junior team members in the completion of technical tasks while remaining hands‑on to analyze claims data and conduct advanced statistical analyses when needed.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes.
- Partner with subject matter experts to deliver quality, actionable findings.
- Present complex analytics and insights in a comprehensible manner to a range of audiences (technical/non‑technical) and to various levels of leadership.
- Identify opportunities for leveraging Medicare and Medicaid data to drive insightful FWA solutions.
- Advocate for and help implement best practices in data management and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
- Effectively communicate with team members while working remotely.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with an analytical or technical focus (e.g., Statistics, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics) or related area.
- Minimum of 5+ years of Medicid experience and conducting advanced analyses utilizing healthcare claims data for the use of fraud detection.
- Ability to understand, simplify, and explain data in business terms to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with familiarity with R or Python for data science (including machine learning).
- Familiarity with Databricks and/or Snowflake.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Customer service oriented and solutions‑focused attitude.
- Sound analytical, problem‑solving, and qualitative skills.
The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
