What Your Job Will Be Like:We are seeking a highly motivated, self‑starting and knowledgeable Solutions Architect to become a member of the Sandia Enterprise Project Management (sEPM) team.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Research, develop, architect and design custom solutions to support project and portfolio management for the organization.
- Define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
- Define technical standards and functionality tests and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides.
- Resolve issues that require architectural changes.
- Research solutions for problems that span multiple domains such as information assurance, hardware, software development, systems programming, data management and database development.
- Utilize risk, requirements, and configuration management information to deliver project management Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solutions to the Corporation.
- Research and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
- The position allows a combination of onsite and offsite work. The candidate must live within 50 miles of the assigned work location and be available to work onsite a minimum of three days per week as necessary.
$117,500 - $235,700
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:- Bachelor
¿ s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or a higher degree (MS, PhD) in a relevant discipline; or equivalent education combined with 5 years of additional relevant experience. - Experience developing solutions using Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL, and/or other SQL databases.
- Experience with full software development life‑cycle using iterative or agile methods.
- An active DOE Q security clearance, or equivalent is required to start.
- Master's degree in Information Systems and Assurance.
- Proficiency with project management scheduling and Earned Value Management software such as Primavera P6, Cobra, and Empower.
- Knowledge of project and portfolio management processes in order to support the Sandia Earned Value Management Organization.
- Experience with Primavera Project Integration Framework (PIF).
- Experience leading and executing project management tools & methodologies to support Agile project management.
- Strong critical thinking, synthesis and problem‑solving skills, and ability to see and convey the big picture.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to a fast‑paced, customer‑focused operation.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in diverse team environments.
