- Responsible for supporting, configuring, and enhancing laboratory software applications used.
- This role serves as the primary liaison between laboratory stakeholders, software vendors, and IT teams to ensure reliable operation, ongoing optimization, and effective support of laboratory systems.
- The following essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Engage and coordinate with software vendors for implementation guidance, and ongoing support.
- Create, maintain, and manage project plans for laboratory system initiatives and enhancements.
- Perform process modeling and process mapping to document current and future-state laboratory workflows.
- Work closely with laboratory subject matter experts to define, refine, and validate operational processes.
- Elicit, analyze, and document application and reporting requirements from laboratory stakeholders.
- Translate functional requirements into test cases and participate in system and user acceptance testing.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage application release deployments, including testing, validation, and communication.
- Coordinate communication with and manage support requests from external users of Patient Viewer.
- Operate effectively with the Enterprise IT organization, following established IT service management practices.
- Leverage IT resources as needed
-including Service Desk, Database Administration & Development, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Security-to deliver laboratory initiatives. - Track and document application configurations, changes, and versions over time to support stability, auditability, and compliance.
- Act as a project manager including work planning, task tracking, dependency management, and status reporting.
- Provide end-user support, documentation, and training as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience in a laboratory environment.
- Background working within a laboratory or clinical environment and familiarity with laboratory systems, workflows, and terminology.
- Background navigating enterprise IT environments and following standard IT processes and controls.
- Proficiency in process modeling and facilitation sessions with laboratory subject matter experts.
- Experience supporting internal and external users accessing patient- or laboratory-facing systems.
- Working knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and release management concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to act in a project management or project coordinator capacity.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

401(k) Plan:
The Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Synectics offers all employees who are 21 years of age or older the opportunity to invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates are each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.
Technical Certification Bonus:
Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus.
It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
