Overview
Braver Technology, a New Charter company, is seeking an experienced L1/2 Field Engineer to join our IT Staff. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package and room for growth. Candidate must be in commutable distance to the Rhode Island / Southeastern MA area. The L1/2 Field Engineer will service client sites three days a week on average, with work from home or the office, and local travel to clients is required.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site and remote support to clients in the Rhode Island / Southeastern MA area, handling issues from simple desktop configuration and network troubleshooting to firewall implementation and Windows Server / Azure related support.
- Support Windows Servers, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Network Security, VPN connections, software upgrades and implementations, network devices, backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email, respond promptly to requests, explain resolutions, and provide professional guidance.
- Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of IT support processes by identifying infrastructure needs and providing feedback for development.
- 3-5 years of experience in a desktop and server support environment and IT field work.
- Connect Wise and RMM experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work closely with executives and build/maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
- Experience with Microsoft platforms (Azure, M365, Active Directory, Windows) and familiarity with servers, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs.
- Knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN) and experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining peripherals (scanners, printers, etc.).
- Understanding of standard IT security practices (virus remediation, firewalls, phishing, etc.).
- Nice-to-have: basic Apple/macOS/iOS troubleshooting, virtualization, MCSE or MCSA, backup and disaster recovery concepts.
Typical schedule:
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time with a one-week on-call rotation after the initial period in the role. Mileage is reimbursed; local travel to client sites is required.
