Cloud Computing, Systems Engineer
CEIS is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to support the deployment, administration, and operational sustainment of containerized enterprise platforms supporting critical ERP modernization and reporting environments. This role will focus on deploying and managing Red Hat Open Shift container environments and supporting the implementation and sustainment of Strategy (Micro Strategy) Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) solutions within a highly regulated environment.

- Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Open Shift container environments.
- Install, configure, support, and optimize Strategy (Micro Strategy) Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software.
- Build and manage containerized infrastructure supporting enterprise ERP and reporting environments.
- Integrate CMC components within Open Shift and Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Perform platform tuning, upgrades, patching, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Monitor system reliability, performance, availability, and operational health across cloud and container environments.
- Troubleshoot deployment, runtime, infrastructure, and configuration issues across the application stack.
- Support migration and upgrade activities involving on-premise enterprise reporting and analytics platforms transitioning to cloud-based architectures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, database, and ERP teams to ensure successful platform integration and operational support.
- Mentor and provide knowledge transfer to LANL technical personnel on Open Shift operations, platform sustainment, deployment practices, troubleshooting, and container management best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, installation guides, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Support security, compliance, and configuration management requirements within regulated enterprise environments.
- Participate in operational planning, environment management, and production sustainment activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or related technical discipline required.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of directly applicable experience supporting cloud, container, infrastructure, or enterprise platform environments.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience deploying, administering, and supporting Red Hat Open Shift environments.
- Direct experience installing, configuring, and supporting Strategy (Micro Strategy) Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containerization technologies, and platform operations.
- Experience with Linux system administration and enterprise infrastructure support.
- Experience supporting production enterprise systems in operational environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across infrastructure, container, and application environments.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while supporting highly technical projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to mentor technical staff and support knowledge transfer activities.
- Experience developing technical documentation and operational procedures.
- US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- Experience supporting Open Shift and Strategy/Micro Strategy CMC together within production environments.
- Experience supporting ERP modernization or enterprise reporting environments.
- Prior DOE, federal, national laboratory, or government‑regulated environment experience preferred.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and configuration management requirements in regulated systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise cloud migrations or platform modernization initiatives.
- Current or previous security clearance preferred.
- Strong mentoring and technical leadership capabilities.
- Experience supporting long‑term operational sustainment and production support activities.
