Cloud Systems Engineer; AWS​/Regulated Data – NYS Government – Fully Remote

Overview

A New York State government agency is hiring an AWS-focused IT Systems Administrator to operate and enhance secure, cloud-hosted platforms for healthcare and regulated data systems. Candidates must have at least 3 years of professional experience architecting healthcare data processing systems. You’ll work with AWS core services, Linux-based tools, and secure data exchange systems, while gaining exposure to advanced cloud and Dev Ops practices.

Pay: $35–$45/hr | 12-Month Contract | Fully Remote | Possible Extension

• Administer and monitor multiple AWS VPC environments for performance, cost control, and compliance.
• Support secure data exchange connections and implement monitoring solutions.
• Manage Linux-based processing tools and basic automation scripts.
• Perform system updates, configurations, and ensure uptime for production workloads.
• Participate in production support, including occasional after-hours response.

• 3+ years of professional experience architecting healthcare data processing systems (required).
• 3+ years AWS administration (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) in a production environment.
• Experience in regulated data environments (HIPAA, PHI, government systems).
• Linux server administration and basic scripting skills (Bash, Python).

• AWS EKS administration.
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform
