About Breville

Over the past 80+ years Breville has grown to become an iconic global brand, delivering kitchen products to over 70 countries around the globe. Breville enhances people's lives through the delivery of brilliant innovation and thoughtful design based on deep consumer insights, empowering people to do things more impressively or easily than they'd thought possible in their own home and ultimately allowing them to "Master Every Moment".

A career at Breville is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It's more than working for a global leader; it's an opportunity to be a part of something that impacts people all over the world.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated professional for a remote position supporting the Legal
Department. The ideal candidate is eager to embrace the power of AI, contract management tools
and project management platforms to enhance their capabilities to assist the Legal Department. The
candidate will use these tools daily to supplement and broaden their capabilities to help the
department. Paralegal certification or experience may be helpful but is not required, and qualified
candidates without a paralegal credential are encouraged to apply.

We're looking for someone who demonstrates a strong work ethic, sound judgment and a proactive
approach to legal and admin work; someone who can adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and
is willing to learn new skills. We expect the candidate to negotiate basic contracts, with the
assistance of AI platforms under the direct supervision of our internal lawyers.

Prior experience is not required; we are willing to train but the candidate must have an interest in contract negotiation. The candidate will also help with other basic functions ranging from administrative matters to project management to supervised legal research to figuring out how to tackle day-to-day activities, such as filing a DBA certificate, corporate governance, file management, obtaining an apostille on a document, or updating tracking spreadsheets.

The candidate will have the attitude that "nothing is too big" and "nothing is too small". The candidate will not be intimidated by complex challenges or unwilling to tackle the mundane.

The candidate will work directly with our internal legal team, external law firms and contractors, and
internal Breville clients. We want to work with someone who has superior interpersonal and
communication skills especially in a remote environment. Our client satisfaction is extremely
important to our department.

The specific hours worked are somewhat flexible, allowing for adjustments to start and end times to
accommodate personal needs within the framework. This is a great opportunity for someone who
would benefit from flexibility in their schedule as well as the ability to work remotely.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Loves technology and is 'tech-savvy'.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for using AI tools to improve efficiency and quality of work.
  • Actively seeks out new AI solutions and shares learnings with the team.
  • Willing to take on a wide variety of tasks as needed.
  • Not afraid to ask for help.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or excited to learn
    them.
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Willingness to learn basic legal terminology and document structure.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing demands in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable with
ambiguity and change, given the evolving AI/legal landscape.
  • Reliable, responsible and responsive.
  • Diligent with high performance standards.
  • Looking for a long-term growth opportunity rather than a steppingstone.
